According to the information given by Department of Energy Production Joint Stock Company  to the Press – release of "Azerenergy" JSC,  "Mingachevir" hydro power plant (HPP) in order to increase efficiency of the equipment maintenance and inspection work carried out a series of energy transmission system, stabile work and a number of measures have been implemented to improve the quality of life. This in turn has led to the improvement of technical and economic indicators.

"Mingachevir" HPP in October of this year, 41.6 million kWh of electricity was generated from production in the same period of 2015, more than 2.5 million kWh.

In the past 10 months of 2016, "Mingachevir" HPP 492.8 million kWh of electricity was generated in the corresponding period of the last year of production for more than 115.2 million kilowatt-hours.

Increasing the efficiency of the equipment and operation of electric power production targeted measures to improve the level of other technical indicators also allowed to obtain high results.

"Mingachevir" HPP hydro unit No. 1 and 3 of the reconstruction work was completed and connected to the hydroelectric units. At the same time in the last three months of the year, the hydro units from maintenance works were carried out on schedule stipulated.

Total capacity 424.6 MW power plant was put into operation in 1953 and consists of 6 hydro units.
