According to the information received from Power Transmission Department of “Azerenerji” JSC to the Public Relations and Press Service of “Azerenerji”JSC regarding works done at the service area of Sumgait High Voltage Power Grid during last 5 months of last year, 220/110/10 kV autotransformer No.1 with capacity 200 MVA, 330/220/35/10 kV autotransformer No.2 with capacity 240 MVA and 330/110/10 kV autotransformer No.3 with capacity 200 MVA and equipments had been repaired and tested, relay protection automation had been checked in 330 kV Yashma substation which has an important role in paralel mode operation of Azerbaijan and Russia power systems. At the same time, surge arrester at 10 kV side of the autotransformers had been replaced with new ones.

In this period, 220/110/10kV “Sanaye Govshagi” and 110/10/ kV “Sumgait-2” substations had been carried out maintenance works with various purposes.

Also, it might be mentioned works done at 110/35/6 kV substation No. 135,110/35/10Kv Kimyachilar substation, 110/10 kV Masazir substation, 110/35/10 kV substation No.83 and other substations in connection with replacement of old, oil circuit breakers with modern gas-insulated, vacuum circuit breakers, as well as sequentially, timely and quality implementation of all works according to the seasonal action plan, annual plan.

Similar works had been implemented at the 110/35/6 kV Shamakhi substation, 110/35/6 kV Goradil substation, 110/35/6 kV Sulfanol substation and other substations. In general, different types of repair works done at the substations have significantly increased the stability of the power transmission system.

As regards the work done on overhead lines, for increasing the stability of 500 kV "Absheron - 2", 330 kV "Absheron-1", 330 kV “Khachmaz”, 220 kV "Sanaye Govshagı" and other overhead transmission lines belonging to the balance, the various type of repair and rehabilitation works had been carried. During the repair and rehabilitation works, some wires between supports had been renewed, stubs were inspected and insulators had been replaced.

It should be noted that Sumgait High-Voltage Power Grid prefers to apply new technologies during repair and rehabilitation works.
