Strategic Road Map under national economy outlook of Azerbaijan Republic confirmed by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, Mr.Ilham Aliyev dated 6th December 2016 as the new development concept will create great conditions for economical changes.

Strategic Road Map on development of public utilities (electricity, heating energy, water and gas) determined as one of the strategic targets in this Decree will establish more favorable conditions for providing the country with fully branched and environmentally clean power. With application of the new technology, stability and efficiency will increase substantially.

As is known, priorities of power system for nearest and future prospects had been expressed in this significant document. Approaching with fundamental bases to the important and strategic points regarding this area gives ground to say that it will occur changes and novations in the electricity infrastructure. The power system in parallel with technogical development of will continue modernization. Azerenerji JSC starting for execution of tasks and functions arising from this Strategic Road Map and prepares the new Operation Plan and the optimal management method of the new targets set for us by the President of Azerbaijan Republic.

As we know, in the past 15 years, the production volume of the country has increased several times and potential for the electricity export of Azerbaijan Republic has expanded, power plants had been modenized, substations and transmission lines had been renewed. At present, more than 90 percent of the electricity in the country is produced by the thermal power plants and the remaining part is produced by the hydro and other power plants.

It might be noted once again that the Strategic Road Map creates new opportunities for fully satisfying demand increased due to economic and demographic development, for extending of electricity supply and for ensuring the stability of the supply. This Decree sets new targets and functions for "Azerenerji" JSC and allows to comprehensive development of the infrastructure in this field.

In short, the Strategic Road Map is the perfect concept for moving towards the strategic targets via the application of new technologies.
