“Chichakli” hydro power plant with 3 MW installed capacity, took into operation after substantial reconstruction in AshagiZurnabad settlement, Goygol region.

The President of Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. IlhamAliyev had participated in opening ceremony of the plant.

The President of “Azerenerji” JSC, Mr. EtibarPirverdiyev gave information to the President about the plant.

Noted that this hydro power plant, which constructed in 1927, totally destroyed by flood and became useless in 1997. The plant was privatized according to policy of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, which aimed to attract private investments to the economy. It was made substantial reconstruction works and set new equipment.

Noticed that turbine hall and three-storied administrative building of the plant refurbished in modern style. Three hydro generators and three hydro turbine with 1 MW power have been set up in the plant. On the framework of the reconstruction substations with 35/6/0,4 kW power was set and constructed electricity transmission lines in the plant. Capacity of water basin of the plant is 153 thousand cub meters, height of the dam is 10 meters, length is 134 meters, and width of the bottom is 60 meters. Here, 65 cubic meters of submersible cobalt per second, 10 cubic meters of submarine intake per second. Cross-section of the derivation canal is 5 square meters and length is 3800 meters. The pipe with length of 500 meters and a diameter of 1600 millimeters  was installed  here .

Pointed out that “Chichakli” HPP has economic and social importance. This plant, which has 20 mln.kWh production capacity per year, will meet 15% demand of Goygol region and 75% demand of Goygol city. 80 employees have worked in the construction of the plant.The working area face lifted, modern lightening system set and trees planted. Creating 20 new workplaces is planned.

In the last years, under the leadership of the President IlhamAliyev, it was achieved important successes in the power industry. “Azerenerji” JSC continues to work successfully in this direction. 14 hydro power plants has been put into service until this day. Currently, it is constructed 4 plants with total capacity of 15 MW.

The President put the plant into operation.
